Multishield Limited was incorporated in 1997 as a Health Maintenance Organization. It commenced operations in the same year with prepaid health plans to cater for the health needs of individuals and corporate organizations.

Multishield has a fully paid up share capital one hundred million naira and has a few cooperate investors e.g. AIICO Insurance PLC.Following the successful rating by Agusto & Co, which was commissioned by the National Health Insurance Scheme, Multishield was one of the first few pioneer Health Maintenance Organisations accredited to operate and provide comprehensive healthcare to Nigerians including Federal and State Government employees.

Much of these changes and reengineering have paid of with the accreditation of Multishield Limited as a National Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) following successful rating by Agusto & Co.
